Need for Speed Underground 2

Once again, I'm focusing a post on the Need for Speed Underground series. Underground 2 is super fun to play. Not only does it have just about everything the first has, but it also has an entire city to free-foam.

Personally, I find this game to be one of the best racing games ever made. With a wide range of vehicles (mostly tuners), including a new form of vehicle. SUVs, that's right, you can now race things like Escalades or Navigators.

The game starts as the player being new to the fictional city of Bayview, a place with as many street racers as an anthill has ants. A friend lends you her decked out Nissan 350z so you can get the feel for the driving and to get to the car lot where you get your first car. Before you hand her car back to her, there are a few races you can do to earn a little extra money early.

This game is the exact reason I got hooked on Need for Speed, full free-roam racing. The player must win races in order to unlock new areas of the city. Bayview is always alive with challenges from potential street racing competitors.

A few new features that weren't in the first Underground are sponsorships, URL (Underground Racing League) races, and SMS (Short Messaging System) which allows other racers to send you info on tournaments, special opportunities, new inventory in the various shops around the city, etc.

There is just so much in this game to love that even though it's an old game, I still play it. I simply can't think of anything bad about this game.
